Educational Opportunities

Most Garden Clubs in Region 6 meet monthly.  These meetings include an educational program about gardening or demonstrations in floral design.  Clubs are encouraged to sponsor formal flower shows.  It is often during the social interaction at these functions that one learns the most about gardening from other gardeners.  Clubs often have swap meetings where seeds and plants are exchanged.  See Regional Club Meetings page for more information.

There are two regional meetings a year.  These meetings are educational by design.  Day long programs, there is typically a morning and an afternoon speaker.

OAGC conducts schools for flower show exhibitors and judges.  Four schools are given over a two year period in spring and fall.  Students who successfully pass the exams of all four schools may become an accredited OAGC Flower Show Judge.  Anyone can attend the sessions and learn more about successfully showing horticulture specimens and artistic designs without becoming a judge.
